Oh boy here we go this is gonna be a lot of writing
Wow PhoenixWander actually writing a guide who would’ve expected this? Not me, and I’m the guy writing it.
Anyways, typings. Pretty important when you have people running things like 2 pre-nerf shivertusks on 1 team and getting a 12 winstreak (yes one of my friends actually did this), or when you have things like this absolute monster running around:
Typings can be pretty important when it comes to winning battles in a timely manner, especially since hardmode introduces wizard battles with 12k+ total hp, and pets that hit harder than a truck.
Anyways, ready to throw all of that out the window?
THE NEUTRAL TYPING!
This is my typing of choice, and the only typing in the game to be not be weak to, or effective against, anything other typing.
It also has a grand total of 0 attacking spells accessible to normal players, but is the only typing with healing spells.
On the topic of said healing spells, there are 2 types of them. Single and Team.
These 2 types of spells have many, many, spells within them, but all of these spells have the same stats, and can have their stats generalized.
Single
Heals for 22.5% of HP
Cannot target self.
Recharge of 1, accessible first turn.
Team
Heals entire team 22.5% of HP.
Recharge of 2, accessible first turn.
Actually playing around Neutral Type section
If you’re playing Neutral, you should be prepared for a more drawn out battle, due to it being mostly based around healing. You typically want to use a stronger spell set for your wizard, with no healing spell, while having at least 2 pets with team heals, or 1 with 2 team heals.
In my personal team, I run the earlier pictured Tribeak in Slot 1, which also provides some coverage to my team, due to the powerful astral spells on the team.
I run Eclipse in slot 2 for extra coverage there, and his 2 team heals, but a good replacement for him is Flameger, which has a single and team heal.
On the wizard, I run the spell setup of an elemental ancient relic for coverage (High power spell), and Volcannon (also high power spell), but you can use any powerful / dragon relic for coverage in that slot.
The main strategy with neutral that I use is to use your wizard to deal chip damage via spamming powerful spells while using your pets to heal. Once you reach turn 4, you use all out attack, which usually ends the game.
And with that, have fun playing the weirdest typing in the entire game. This guide will be updated and edited with more numbers as I do more research, but for some of the stats, I need to do some leveling stuff (All Out Attack scales with level).
