Iām just gonna jump right into this because I donāt have a good introduction to this and I donāt have footage of the entire fight (re-fighting all the bosses). I will, however, flex that I was one of the first ten thousand or so to beat him because over the summer, I was stalking the wiki :p

Before you start, you should have these ready.
Wizard
- You should be at a fairly high level (above level 80, although a guy without a skill issue[1] has beaten the Puppet Master at around level 80).
- Thanks to the mass-readding of removed gear, you should have a set with a high health and defense bonus (e.g. the Celestial set with over 850 health at level 100 the last time I checked).[2]
- A wand with a healing spell (e.g. the Ice Cream Stack, which also has a very high power bonus), high-damaging spell (e.g. the Titan Power Katana, which is one of if not the most powerful wand in the game), or spell with an elemental advantage (e.g. the Dual Blade, which also has a high power bonus) will be extremely helpful.
- Take advantage of all your bonuses from mounts and buddies. Buddies now give extra bonuses on top of everything else, which is very useful. If you were at level 125 with just the Celestial set on, youād have 980 health. Meanwhile, with a Sparkle Puppy from the Treasure Track and a Flower Bush Mount from attending Springfest, you can up that number to 1,050.
Pets
- Now that pet gear has been added, try to get really good pet gear on the pets youāre going to use. A power or health bonus will be especially helpful, as well as a defense bonus.
- Do not choose a glass cannon pet* (high damage in exchange for low health) or any pets that do not have a good, high-damaging spell.
- Just like your wizard, make sure your pets are at around the same level as you. I know that you probably know this, but just to reiterate it: higher level = higher stats.
*Of course, if you can use a glass cannon pet well, then you can try. However, youāll need to heal it constantly.
Strategies
You canāt just spam your high-damaging spells in the beginning. So, how do you beat the Puppet Master?
Before you read, note that these are essential:
- When the Puppet Master steals your pet, unlike 99% of stolen things, he will give it back. So, even though the pet will attack you, donāt attack it back.
- These strategies are written for a tank and a balanced pet (more specifically, Shivertusk and Magnome respectively).
All-Out Beginning
This is pretty much what it says: go all-out at the beginning.
Notes:
- If possible, whenever you or your pet(s) are low on health, use a healing spell.
- Keep trying to do extremely high damage before the Puppet Master recovers 1,000 health.
- Once the Puppet Master recovers 1,000 health, keep going all-out on him.
- Speaking of all-out, you should also use All-Out Attack, but it wonāt really one-shot him.
Do you have any more strategies to suggest? Suggest them in the replies and Iāll add it.
Unfortunately, that person canāt use the Puppet Master set because itās level-locked at level 90. ā©ļø
All of my personal experience, which is what Iām using to write this, came from July 2023. Tons of things have changed since then. For example, while I would use the Celestial set to beat it now, back then, I had to use the Draconyx set and a wand that no longer has a healing spell. ā©ļø
