"Rebalancing" in Prodigy

Honestly, these “rebalances” are not rebalances. There was a new one today I think, and these changes were implemeneted:

  • tons of pets now have healing spells
  • astral spells are debuffed now (in terms of accuracy)
  • all formerly-overpowered spells and pets have been nerfed
  • non-fully evolved pets no longer have 4 spells

It’s like if Prodigy was trying to make members and non-members in the same boat by nerfing everything. I used to say that Shivertusk was worth it, but honestly, it’s not anymore. No pets are really good anymore. Also, if they’re trying to get rid of Physical spells, they should just do it outright. Physical spells keep getting nerfed to the point that they’re pretty much there just as a neutral element (which not only already exists, but the fact that Physical spells are strong against Astral is a little confusing).

Some suggestions:

  • bring back the old battle system
  • revert the spell “rebalancing” updates

The effect is already being seen on the community. As more of these so-called “rebalances” arrive, people are leaving the game and community. In fact, the only remotely good thing I saw that came out of this series of updates is that healing spells are more commonplace.

Also, something that I don’t think anyone talks about enough is the fact that some pets have two spells that are the exact same except for their reload times. Applepot used to have this problem, but I would much rather have that problem than this filth.

Sure, I’m throwing a bunch of ad hominems around, but I want you to tell me what’s good about this:

In fact, I can tell you everything bad about this:

  • 3 AoE spells that both have:
    • low accuracy
    • low damage
  • only single-hit spell has relatively low power
  • AoE spells take up most of the spell slots
  • relatively low damage overall

I’ll do another one.

  • 2 healing spells
    • does not leave room for any attacking spells
    • pets used as healers are mostly a waste of pet space
  • mediocre attacks
    • AoE spell has low accuracy + low damage
    • single-hit spell has relatively low damage

The only good thing I can spot is the healing spells, but that’s a double-edged sword (see first bullet point).

In terms of what Prodigy is trying to accomplish, they want to make battles more slow and more interactive. Battles were completed fairly quickly beforehand, and Prodigy has probably noticed that and wants every player to have fair chances at winning battles.

Prodigy has become more of a luck-based game, with all spells not having perfect aim anymore, it is obvious that these changes, along with healing, is making sure battles lost LONGER, more INTERACTIVE, and ensure all players have a longer experience.

Haven’t checked yet, but what’d they do to batterbot
Tell me they kept his two physical high damage attacks
Without them it’d be useless because the whole gimmick of batterbot is the two high damage attacks and high damage, but high cooldown so if you fail to defeat them you can only use low damage attacks until the attack is back.

Pyre blast is a 5 hit AOE. It can take out or greatly lower the health of most opponents
Fireball’s aim Is better than you think
Embers also has better aim than you think
Sunder does a good amout of damage for a multiple aoe

But that’s mainly because the callers/creators have been buffed

sometimes the problem with battles being short is that the pets are low-level, so they have less defense and health, thus making the pets easier to defeat with not too much resistance

assuming it doesn;t miss a lot, sure (especially on ice pets)

earlier it said good, now it’s excellent apparently

earlier it said okay, but the wiki says the aim is good so idk now

one problem is that it’s 2 hits with okay aim

That’s not true
You just can’t see them all until you get into the battle

yeah, i found that out later

Also here’s proof that those 5 hit spells are good
This is rift 16 after using hydro crash (the water version) once. (It was the first spell I used that battle)

@Bill_Hatpher

The :physical: Crack is almost guaranteed to get a critical hit, from what I’ve seen..
:trophy:

Awww they changed it
Used to be One move with good aim, and one with excellent
Now there’s a dice one
That’s annoying
And they weakened them too
The good one was at 4, and the excellent one was at max basically

makes sense for the one at the bottom because it’s weak against water

you have to hope that it hits at least once because their accuracy is eh

Dude, 5 hits spells have the potential to do 1500+ damage, 500+ more than a regular 1 its spells, whose max is 999 or 1000 for :neutral:All Out Attack.
To me, that’s crazy good!
:exploding_head:

has it been tested/proved before?

i can see how it happens, though, which is using a 5-hit spell against a pet weak to that element and all 5 hits actually hit and are criticals

I’ve killed multiple pets with a turn one hydro crash many times
