Is Prodigy SELLING?

Prodigy Math isn’t what it used to be.
It was originally a simple, fun battle game that put education in the middle.
So that brings the question:
What happened? I mean, now we have a Dragon Isle. Rip Harmony Island. Now, there isn’t an Epic Subspace. Macha is in Lamplight now. Pull out a… WHAT IS AN ASPFEAR?!
And now no regular Members, instead it’s Core, Ultra, Ultimate… I don’t even know what they are anymore. It’s no longer the simple game of, “Oh, get a crystal by battling and doing quests.” It’s now, “Get a dragon and get overpowered gear in an RNG thing where the battle thing is so different in Dragon Isle. And go and try to fix the pedestal, and beat up Titans for shards, and go to Tower Town to…”
What really happened?
It’s 7 times more pay to win, there are WAY too many pets, the textures are different, and even the battling is different.
It’s not as much fun, because they changed and removed things, like the Arena, or Harmony Island, or the Earth and Ice Towers. The amount of stuff, like removing the Epics and introducing the Mythical Epics… It’s too much.
Why, Prodigy. Why.
You’re removing the very thing that makes it fun, the ability to do what you want, go slow and make progress, not remove everything and make it pay to win and restricted.
You can do better than this, I know you can.

I agree with you on every front lol.
Prodigy is ruining their own game by making people pay for every possible level of premium feature.

I also added prodigy-feedback since it’s used for this sort of thing.

Oh, not even that. What about the Shivertusk nerf?
It’s supposed to be rare.

REAL

also, after doing some very very simple calculations, you are doing an average of 1/2 of the questions in this battle system compared to the 2018 - 2023 battle system. the exception to this are the pets that have one magic slot (e.g. epics). so is prodigy really a math game, or a money farm?

fun fact: shivertusk was added back in crystal caverns as a limited-time thing, and then they forgot to remove it :skull:

WHAT IS PRODIGY DOIN
The nerf was…
Changing it to Ice, changing its moves to Ice, and removed Smash, the most powerful move. I’m like, BRUH.

Is Prodigy a math game, or a money farm?

We all know the answer to this. And, hint, it’s not math-game.

tbf, that was the summer of covid iirc

but then again, everyone was at home and they still had the effort to put sir vey surveys (i miss those) + stay at home gifts (why did i use the wheel of wonder ticket ;-;)

Sir Vey surveys are gone? I actually had no clue. I was gone for a while, and then I can back, and he just acted like he would have another survey soon, and I forgot when he has them.

What I find funny about prodigy is that some of it is hot garbage and some of it is amazing.

Ye.

Oh yeah, I remember that weird guy. He was at the docks, right?

Yep. Still is. He was one of my favorite characters too.

also something separate: i feel like the storyline is pretty bad now. there’s the classic movie plot twist where the villain is still alive, the removal of harmony island left holes and questions in the lore, dragon isle legit has no big connection to the lore other than being epics 2.0 minus the turn-into-stone part, etc…

tl;dr/my-ela-teacher-will-kill-me-for-that-run-on-sentence: prodigy is selling in terms of lore

Prodigy is selling in general.
In fact, they’re selling in both meanings of the word.

Used to be such a great and all-rounded game, but now?

True. And I’m going to write my own prodigy lore, so I’ll check this topic again n like 5 min.

indeed, so i like fanon content (fan-made lore if you don’t know) better. so much, in fact, that i wrote my own fanon thing.

i feel like that lore in games just doesn’t work out well because you’re gonna want to add on new stuff. prodigy is a great example of this, they got rid of harmony island, and now the question is: is it canon? you can also see this with arcane and league of legends: is jinx from arcane the new jinx in l[eague]o[f]l[egends]?

They are? I haven’t played prodigy in years, but my favorite part was actually the regular surveys lol

Years ago, I loved prodigy. You could only get one crystal at the time, but it kept saying “soon to come” or whatever. I kept waiting and waiting. Eventually, I stopped playing because there was no new content.

Well the surveys were just Prodigy taking advantage of all the kids they had hooked on their platform and using them for testing their product in exchange for a meaninglesss and costless reward, but sure, if they hold a special place in your heart.
