Why the pet element & balancing update ruined the battle meta 😭

Hey everyone

i wanted to open up a discussion about the recent pet rebalancing and elemental adjustments. honestly, these pet changes have completely ruined the battle system, and it feels like a massive step backward for the game. :(

Here are the main reasons why this element/stat overhaul is not working out:

1. The Death of Strategy (Pure RNG Meta) :game_die:

Removing “excellent aim” from almost all elemental spells was a terrible choice. Battles used to require timing and tactical planning. Now, attacks constantly miss entirely during PvP battles. Instead of rewarding smart type-advantages, winning or losing is determined by pure luck.

2. Spamming 5-Hit AoE Spells :ocean:

Because accuracy is so bad now, the meta is completely broken. Everyone is forced to use pets with five-hit Area of Effect (AoE) spells, like Water Crater with Hydro Crash. Spreading out the attacks is the only realistic way to deal consistent damage and minimize the risk of missing. This completely defeats the purpose of pet diversity.

Iconic Pets are Destroyed (Like Tribeak) :sob:

Fan-favorite pets have been completely stripped of their identity just to fit into arbitrary new roles:

  • Tribeak used to be a staple Storm pet. Forcing it to become an Astral element pet completely ruined its original concept. Its lightning-themed background makes zero sense with its new astral moveset, and it lost everything that made it cool in the first place.
  • Luma, Teran, and Batterbby have had their health severely nerfed or their classic movepools ruined.
  • Dryad lost Green Gust and had Leaf Burst downgraded to “good aim,” while getting generic grass AoE moves it didn’t need.
  • Why does almost every single pet have a healing attack now?(not really though :()

4. The Physical Element Disappointment :crossed_swords:

Assigning elements to pets hasn’t felt right, especially regarding the Physical element. Keeping Physical strictly restricted to specific spell-only mechanics (like Nuetral) shows that forcing these strict elemental theme changes onto existing pets just doesn’t shine the way the devs intended.

What Prodigy Needs to Do to Fix This:

  • Bring back “excellent aim” on single-target spells so accuracy isn’t pure luck.
  • Make accuracy a buildable stat that improves as your wizard progresses.
  • Buff the individual stats of single-target pets so they can actually compete with 5-hit AoE spammers.

What do you guys think? Are your favorite pets completely unusable now too? Drop your thoughts below!

:hmm:

Regardless, not bad ideas!

Holy ai

Doesn’t exist, ai

Was this all ai, or some of your ideas

I used AI on my first post to help get my ideas across clearly.

I think it’s fine to use it for a little help, especially if English isn’t your first language or you’re just nervous!

Couldn’t you just use google translate

Or like write the thing on its own and then ask ai to make it better or something

:woman_shrugging:t2::woman_shrugging:t2::woman_shrugging:t2: idk
