Chapter 1
Kai woke up to the sound of creaking, and then what sounded like the flutter of wings.
“Hello?” It squeaked shyly.
“W-what do y-you want, mom?” Kai yawned.
“What?” the creature asked, sounding puzzled.
“You don’t sound like mom… AH!!” Kai’s eyes popped open. “W-who are you?”
“I’m Noot, I take wizards like you to the Academy”, Noot replied brightly.
“Is my mom ok with this?” Kai questioned. Finally, I get to become an actual wizard! I know my mom & dad were wizards, but I never thought this day would come!
“Uh.. well… let’s just get to the academy”, Noot replied.
Noot led Kai to the clearing where the forest and Lamplight Town meet, and then to the path above where Kai had never gone.
Up the path was a huge building that seemed to be floating in mid-air.
“Wow… What is that?” Kai asked
“Welcome to the Academy, young wizard!”
